Capital Jazzfest & Street Art Fair

Memorial Park, Jefferson City

Schools are invited to participate in Chalk painting competitions on the first day, where the sidewalks come alive with kids and brilliant colored chalk.  Day two consists of live jazz and live art as the sidewalks are lined with a diverse group of amateur and professional artists of all ages, chalking it up for top honors an prizes.  Whether recreating a well known piece of art or making an live original, participants make the concrete come alive.  One need not be an artist to join in; all are encouraged to unleash their creativity in this day long event.  In addition, artist tents full of wares are dispersed throughout the park.
