A Chance to Give Back
Capital Arts is excited to announce the first Paint the Town Fundraiser which will help raise crucial funds for the Art Heals program. To learn more about Art Heals, click here.
How does it work?
This fundraiser is open to anyone who wants to participate. Simply contact Capital Arts to pick up either a 5x5 or a 12x12 canvas starting January 13, 2023 and up until April 1, 2023. Fill that canvas with a painting of our beautiful Jefferson CIty area and return it to Capital Arts by April 25, 2023. Completed pieces will be on display alongside the annual High School Sketch Day entries and available for purchase through a Silent Auction. They will remain on display until May 30, 2023.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Do I have to live in Jefferson City to participate?
No! Artists from all over are welcome to submit a painting into this fundraiser.
Do I get paid for my painting?
Paintings submitted into this fundraiser are considered donations from each artist so they do not receive payment for them. However, prints can be made from the paintings and sold at the Capital Arts Gallery which is a great way for artists to benefit financially from their entries.
Is there a limit to the number of paintings I submit?
Absolutely not! Artists can create as many pieces as they wish to submit as long as they are completed and turned in by Aril 25, 2023. Only one canvas will be given at a time so those wishing to create more than one piece must turn in the prior canvas before receiving another surface.
Can I create a piece outside the 5x5 or 12x12 surface dimensions?
Yes however, Capital Arts is only handing out canvases that are 5 inches by 5 inches and 12 inches by 12 inches. Artists are welcome to use canvases of a different size as long as they are stretched and wired for hanging upon completion. Artists may use watercolor paper as well, but it must be matted and framed upon completion.
